| He was admitted to California Supreme Court and various U.S. District Courts, US Court of International Trade in Washington DC.
A frequent lecturer and author on maritime transportation and trade law topics, Mr. Kim is a member of California Bar, Transportation Lawyers Association, Long Beach Bar Association Admiralty Law Section, serving on its Executive Board & Secretary. He has served as a legal advisor to the Korean American Logistics Association, Korean American Chamber of Commerce of USA, and KOTRA.
The firm’s areas of practice include US Customs Penalty Action Defense involving CAFTA, NATFA, Freight Dispute/Collection, Letter of Credit dispute, Cargo Claims, Insurance Subrogation right, Carrier’s Lien, Compliance with FMC, TSA, USCBP, FDA, EPA, DOT, DEA & USCG, C-TPAT supply chain security, International Trade Court Litigation, Business Law State/Federal Court Litigation, Bill of Lading and International Sales Agreement between Importers and Exporters.
He produced numerous supply chain security plans for logistics companies, and edits the J.J.Kim Report, Logistics & Trade newsletter interpreting the International Trade & Transportation Act (and its extensions), and presented seminars on Trade and Maritime Topics to the Korean American Logistics and Trade Industry, and Asian Chamber of Commerce.
His Awards include a Distinguished Service Award from the Lieutenant Governor of California State, Congressional Recognition to Mr. Kim’s service to strengthen the alliance between the U.S and South Korea supporting the Korea-US Free Trade Agreement, Commendation from Los Angeles Superior Court for his efficient administration of justice, and various municipal and county recognitions to Mr. Kim’s civic service to the community. Mr. Kim is fluent in Korean and has working knowledge of Japanese. He is currently serving on Asian Pacific Islander Advisory Board of Loretta Sanchez, Member of United States Congress. |
